The Grains Research Updates are workshops to provide grain growers and/or their advisers with the latest research outcomes for their region.
Adviser Updates
Three two-day Grain Research Updates are held annually in the southern grains region. Researchers, agronomists and consultants network, share ideas and update their knowledge. If you are at all involved in the grains industry in the north, these are events that you cannot afford to miss. The Updates are run in February/March each year and agendas and registration forms will be available on this site.
Grower Updates
Grower Updates are single day seminars. Topics for Grower Updates are chosen by groups of local growers and agronomists to ensure their relevance to their region. Locations of the Grower Updates vary each year. Eight Grower Updates are run annually in the south in addition to high rainfall and irrigation updates.
Papers from past Updates are located on the GRDC website (http://www.grdc.com.au/director/events/researchupdates).
1) the delivery of a program to growers and advisers through face to face adviser and grower updates (showcasing GRDC and partner R,D and E outputs) at a minimum of:
a. Three two-day Adviser Updates per annum
b. Nine Grower Updates run in varying locations across southern New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania
c. Three High Rainfall Updates run across same states
d. Two Irrigation Updates, one in Victoria and one in New South Wales
2) Production of GRDC research update newsletters per annum targeted (but not specifically limited to) at industry advisers in the GRDC Southern region.
3) Delivery of outcomes from Farm Business Impact Analysis – An annual initiative to ensure that current economic and farm business management considerations are embedded in the Grains Update program.
4) Established and developed networks including research institutions, grower groups, affiliates and regional agribusiness.
5) Organised venues, catering, travel and accommodation arrangements for presenters at all Updates.
6) Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Research Update program on a quarterly basis
