The Services by the Western Region Research Update Coordinator are to facilitate the operation of the annual Agribusiness Crop updates in the Western Grains region (Western Australia) for the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2012.

In particular, the Services to be completed by the Western Region Research Update Coordinator are to:

  1. Deliver a program advisers, consultants and agribusiness through an annual Agribusiness Crop updates (showcasing GRDC/DAFWA and partner R, D and E outputs). The implementation of face to face Updates will be planned in order to maximise participation by growers, advisers and agribusiness.
  2. Prioritisation of issues and topics to be communicated at the Agribusiness Crop updates program following liaison with the research community and the Australian grains industry. Establish and liaise with networks including research institutions, grower groups, affiliates and regional agribusiness.
  3. Regular liaison to coordinate Update issues to identify and coordinate Update issues and latest research and development topics.
  4. Source and organise (in conjunction with the GRDC/DAFWA) for international speakers (where appropriate) for use at the Update series, and work collaboratively to share speakers with Update Coordinators in other GRDC regions.
  5. Coordinate all administrative tasks involved including venues, catering, travel and accommodation arrangements for presenters.
  6. Ensure presentations and supporting material are delivered at a high and consistent standard.
Aims:

The Services by the Western Region Research Update Coordinator are to facilitate the operation of the annual Agribusiness Crop update services in the Western Grains region.

Expected Outcomes:

 The primary Outputs are:
1) the delivery of a program to advisers, consultants and agribusiness through an annual face to face Agribusiness Crop update (showcasing DAFWA/GRDC and partner R,D and E outputs) 

2) Established and developed networks including research institutions, grower groups, affiliates and regional agribusiness.

3) Organised venues, catering, travel and accommodation arrangements for presenters at all Updates.
